Life is not without irony
Since the Queen served her people with distinction, she was much loved.
The British has a high standard of living and the concerns of the people were critical to the Queens’s activities. The problem with the Queens legacy exists within former colonies since the suffering of the brown and black majorities continue. The Queen who ruled for 70 years cannot escape analysis from the activities of empire during her governance that spanned decades across parts of the globe.
Also, the accrual of historic and current wealth by the British Royal family remains contentious.
To make this article more interesting the actions of other monarchs requires a comparative study.
Example, Pres. Zuma, “borrowed” millions from taxpayers to build a “Royal Estate” in Nkandla since he measured himself a Monarch of sorts. As Deputy Pres and President of South Africa, “King Zuma” ruled for 15 years and had more than 6 wives and 20 kids. Zuma’s historic actions confirm that he did not consider himself a responsible politician but rather a “King” who governed by “divine right”.
Why do this comparison? “King Zuma” seeks a come-back as the leader of the governing party.
“King Zuma”, refuses to accept blame for his past actions as his endless court battles confirm. “King Zuma” is convinced of his own grandiose because, like King Charles 1 the historic British ruler that was beheaded, “King Zuma” believes in “divine right” to govern others, without accountability.
Those who criticise Zuma like I have often done, must consider the idea of “divine right” that exists within the psychology of those who govern the Middle East and so many other parts of the world.
Example, Mswati III is the King of Eswatini and rules as an absolute monarch and has 15 wives. His father had 125 wives. Ironically, most of the population of their nation exists in abject poverty and have limited access to employment, healthcare, education and water and electricity etc.
Does society need those who measure themselves “above others without actually making any real contribution to society? How advanced is humanity really when we allow ourselves to be govern by a few people whose ancestors mass murdered their way into wealth and title? Where is the logic?
In what Scripture is it written that society must be governed by Royalty without culpability? Besides King Solomon and David who was chosen by God, where did the other Royalty get their mandates?
